Facebook has finally sued Studivz. People from the german online industry have been joking about the similarity for years.
There were even articles in business 2.0 who described the business model of copying successful us platform and publish them in germany in the hopes Facebook would not see it.
And it worked. For a long time Facebook did not even enter the german market. I have been waiting for this suit ever since Facebook came to germany. I wonder what took them so long.
Hehe … facebook just waited for StudiVZ to be taken over by Holzbrinck. Some professional analysts had to find out the market value of StudiVZ — and now facebook knows the value of their sue

The takeover by holtzbrinck was in January 2007. Took them an aweful lot of time to find out the value if that is the reason.
